Kaiser Permanente Oakland Replacement Hospital
Kaiser Permanente’s new Oakland Medical Center consists of a state-of-the-art 680,000 sq.ft. flagship Replacement Hospital, a Central Utility Plant (CUP), 275,000 sq. ft. Specialty Medical Office Building (SMOB) and two above and below grade parking garages.
The new hospital design is a 12-story tower, which includes a 3-story podium and an 8-story bed tower that will accommodate approximately 349 beds. The SMOB will provide clinic space and interventional radiology as well as an outpatient surgery suite. The CUP will provide reliable utility services to the new campus.
Silverman & Light provided complete electrical engineering and lighting design for this Master Plan which is scheduled opened in 2014 at an estimated $950 million construction cost.
