Kaiser Roseville’s Medical Center consists of a 258,000 SF, four-story, multi-service hospital, which is served from an existing Central Utility Plant (CUP). Silverman & Light provided electrical engineering for the addition of a new 525-kW, seven-unit cogeneration system to the CUP, going in to operation in 2015 as part of Kaiser’s initiative to reduce its overall carbon footprint in 2020 by 30% —in this case, a 40% reduction to the facility’s greenhouse gas emissions.
